He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a micro-hydel power project in Chitral. The project had cost Rs 340 million and constructed by Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) with the assistance of the provincial government. The project has the capacity of 2 megawatt is providing electricity to 3,000 population of the Chitral Town.
Those present on the occasion were included Ambassador of the European Union, MNA Prince Iftikharuddin, MPA Fozia Bibi, Chief Executive, SRSP, Prince Masoodul Mulk, president, PTI Chitral Abdul Latif and notables of the area attended the ceremony at large.
He said the responsibility of unannounced long power load shedding is the responsibility of the federal government and urged the centre for taking practical steps for the abolition of load shedding with immediate effect.
The provincial minister, who is also President of PTI Malakand Region, said "our province is rich in natural resources, but unfortunately past rulers took no practical steps for the utilisation of these resources." He said the PTI led provincial government is making all out steps for the utilisation of these resources in real sense. Mahmood Khan said that previous governments brought the all public sector organisations of the government including health and education sectors on the verge of collapse, but the present government after coming to power has taken record steps for bringing improvement in the government organisations and the supremacy of merits has been ensured in all organisations. Earlier, the Provincial Minister formally inaugurated electricity supply from the power station and opened work on Rs 60 million construction work of RCC Bridge at Mor Kahu Valley.
